Tugela Mouth Resort is well known for the excellent fishing opportunities to be had from the shore, on the banks of the river or from a boat. Daga Salmon of 50kg +, Garrick of 24 kg + and sharks over 200 kg is not uncommon in our waters. With over 260 species of birds already identified, Tugela Mouth is a bird watchers paradise attracting photographers from all over the country.
Although swimming is allowed in the sea, please take note that Tugela Mouth do not have lifeguards on duty and there are no shark nets present. Even without shark nets, we have not had a known shark attack in the history of Tugela Mouth Resort.
If you do not wish to swim in the sea, our two swimming pools, offer young and old the opportunity to swim, tan or play. Our games room, which features 2 pool tables, a dart board, library and table tennis will ensure that you always have something to do.
Tugela Mouth Resort offers peace and tranquility, with big luscious green trees and enough shade you can be sure to have peaceful braai with family, newly found friends and with nature. Our strict policies with regards to noise and other little irritations will ensure that you can enjoy your holiday without any incidents.
Every year Tugela Mouth hosts the Tugela Raft Race which has grown to become a big attraction. (We do not allow or book Rafters in the Resort)
Whales are abundant between October and November and during this time huge numbers of whales can be seen very close to shore. Sea turtles can be seen throughout the year.
